Hi Idiot as I am when I finally made it through to the menu in the game one of the first things I did was to enable shining water(I thought I turned it of was a bit tired) Now the game crashes at start up so I cant get to the options in the start menu is there a way to turn shining water of from the outside?
Let me know if I need to clarify this?

I haven't played NWN 1 in a while, but there should be a INI file with the settings under User Name\My Docs\Neverwinter Nights. You should be able to change it there.

Sorry, that I can't be more specific.

thx but unfortunately there isn't one I think maybe NVN 2 has that but not NVN 1 there's an ini file in the actual C:\GOG Games\Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition folder but if I search for shining water in all its forms it renders nothing

I have actually moved past this though it would be good to know for future reference now my characters are invisible if its not one thing it is another I will soon throw in the towel

Okay, I reinstalled NWN 1 on my old PC (using Win XP), and it doesn't use the My Docs folders. That must be then either only the case for Vista and Win 7 or specific to NWN 2.

In any case, the file is NWN.INI and the setting is called ShinyWater. You can find it under Video Options. Set it to 0 to disable it.

Can't help you with the invisible characters, though. Never saw that happening when I played.

apparantly its an ATI card problem and fixed by turning your catalyst A.I on problem is that did not work and I had to disable catalyst A.I to get the game to run weird. Thnx for the workaround on the shining water issue though +1
