Shodan-Nexus: So any updates about the gog version getting the DLCs and/or Bundle edition?
I was planning on posting this once I had some definite info on the artbook and soundtrack, but since you asked, here's what we know so far (tl;dr at the bottom):
People on the Focus Home Interactive Discord have been asking about the delayed patch and the 3 missing DLCs. There's a user called "Mzulft" who seems to be part of the dev team. Here are some quotes from that user:
When asked about when the first patch would come to GOG/why it took them till mid-Monday to release it on GOG (Steam patch release was on the previous Friday), Mzulft said:
The patch will come to all platforms, Steam/EGS/GOG/whatever, but it will not be deployed at the same time. We have good hopes to have it live on PS by the end of the week, but it might come early next week on Xbox
They didn't give any reason for this, and since they were talking about the console patches as well, it's unclear whether they were referring mainly to console patches coming later. However, given that the GOG patch was already released (slightly) later than the Steam one, I think it's fair to assume they are not planning to make sure that future patches arrive on GOG at the same time as Steam. Hopefully, the delay will only be a few days, but that's already a bad sign if you ask me.
Mzulft was then asked about the missing DLC on GOG, to which they said this:
Not gonna lie, DLCs are not the top priority atm :D But I see no reason, if we make DLCs, not to come to GOG. No clear info on that, but you can be sure that if a DLC is platform-exclusive you will know it
Here, the dev probably misunderstood what people were asking for, since their answer seems to be focused on the possibility of future DLC coming to GOG. Also, it's unclear whether by "platform-exclusive" they mean console/PC or Steam/EGS/GOG - though from context, I think they're referring to store-exclusive DLC.
When it was clarified to Mzulft that people were talking about the three day 1 DLCs which are already available on other stores, they said this:
About the Hunter's Bounty Pack, it unfortunately won't be available on GOG. I'll come back to you asap about the soundtrack and the artbook, as I don't have a clear answer atm.
Note that Mzulft was also asked if they could give a reason for not releasing the DLC on GOG day 1, but they didn't give an answer to that.
tl;dr:
- It's highly probable that GOG patches will always come after Steam patches.
- The Hunter's Bounty Pack (cosmetic DLC) will definitely not be sold on GOG.
- No hard info on the soundtrack and artbook yet.
- We have a noncommital assurance that future DLC might come to GOG.
