Hi all,

I've tried contacting GOG technical support about this three times in the past couple weeks, and still no response at all. I'm really disappointed in that, so I've come here. Hopefully someone has something that can help me. :)

I have Windows 7 64-bit. I try to install Myst: Masterpiece Edition, and it immediately gives me this message:

"The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."

Running as admin doesn't help, and I've tried running in compatibility mode for Vista, Xp, and 98. No difference. Anybody have any idea?

Thanks! :)

Hey, unfortunatly due to whatever reasons we don't know gog support hasn't been the greatest recently. You'll be lucky to get some help though from them as it states on the game page its only supported with XP and Vista and not Windows 7 yet.

Theres a thread here

http://www.gog.com/en/forum/myst_series/has_anyone_gotten_myst_me_to_work_on_win_7_64

Where others are having the same problem. Messing with quicktime has shown some results aparently though it may cause the game to crash alot. The other option that looks to have worked is to run myst in a virtual machine with XP. Thats not ideal but at least it should work then.
Ah, I see. Well, that's really unfortunate. Thanks for your response! :)

Sorry it wasn't better news, you should keep checking back on gog though if you don't already the gog staff said they are still working on making the remaining games win7 compatible.
