I think my subject pretty much says it all. I vaguely remember playing Myst all those years ago and always regretted I never got into it too much. But there's audio cues that are not subtitled that you have to hear to solve the game, right?

Yes. A puzzle towards the end relies totally on aural cues. Riven has something similar as well.

There's quite a few instances where audio is required, and those instances revolve around musical notes and mechanical sounds.

-One on Myst Island to open up the way to Selenitic Age
-One on Selenitic Age
-There's a kind of interwined puzzle involving both Selenitic and Mechanical Ages where audio cues are very important for navigation.

I suppose you could use a walkthrough for those sections. I had to mainly because I don't have the best hearing with certain electronic sounds.

I don't think the few cutscenes in the game have subtitles, but a lot of the story is meant to be read and to be inferred so I don't think it will take a whole lot away.
