Pathea announced a new update on twitter which should be released this week:

"Are you ready for our another update? Ok, we'll have a new update this week which fixed the ***, optimized the ***, and added the ***! Not gonna reveal too much to you. Let just look forward to this build~"

Good to hear.. I have the game on Steam as well and saw it update this morning and thought to myself "hope the GOG version doesn't get left behind again"... good to see them specifically address GOG and the EGS
So Steam got 2.0 Hotfix 1 already and GOG still hasn't gotten the 2.0 update... hope they don't do a repeat of the launch update nightmare
Somewhere else GOG staff commented on this. The upload process is EXACTLY the same as uploading to steam, and designed to be that way. The developer literally just needs to run a single script on the build. So really we should be making tons of complaints at Pathea. There isn't any extra work involved, so there's no reason at all to delay updates here.
Sooo, any news about update ?

Nope, only that Steam got it's hotfix 2 already.

If you guys have Steam accounts, I resurrected a beefy thread from back when we couldn't get the 1.0 updates... only way we'll get it to happen is if enough people keep asking

Well, not really a busy thread lately. Too bad nobody seems to care about other platforms.
You can try to get answers here on GOG or on Twitter (which I do occasionally), maybe even somewhere down at EGS. But it seems you only ever get an answer on Steam.
Partially understandable, if you noticed that it's just the same single person on each platform to provide support/answers and since Steam is the biggest platform... On the other hand, why not get a least one other person to maintain the other platforms? Seriously. I mean it's already frustrating enough to wait for those updates, but having to come over to Steam just to be able to communicate somehow is just freakin' stupid.
But hey, hands down, they mentioned GOG in a Twitter post once. Sheesh.

Thanks for the link btw. Commented as well.

Not sure if you saw it, but Lauren from Team17 responded:

Hey Mawthra!

Our team are currently working closely with Pathea to get these updates ready for both GOG and the Epic Games Store. We'll be posting a change list on GOG and letting our Epic players know as soon as these updates are released.

We don't like to keep you waiting and we understand the wait is frustrating, please bear with us while we get these ready for you.

But yah... this developer has their head firmly planted in the Steam sandbox... it's so frustrating... I get that the game started its life there in Early Access and their previous game is on there, but man... you're not that developer anymore, your game is on 3 stores now, so service it on all at the same time like other developers do... I feel so bad if this ever lands on console, their wait will be even worse with console certifications and all that

True that. Console versions were already announced a while back to be released in spring. People on Twitter keep bugging them ever since for a release date on basically every tweet.

But maybe, just maybe, the whole situation improves on every platform once the console builds are out. Because then they really have to stock up on support crews to handle it all, let alone get their update workflow in line with every release. I don't think (or at least I hope) that Lauren won't be handling console support all alone as well.

Although console builds usually come with their very own set of difficulties, just like other OS builds like Linux or MAC, which btw would be fairly easy to crank out since the game runs on Unity Engine. But yea, that would be even more to maintain so I guess better not...
I'm not so sure. Console users are generally in their own bubble, and unlike us, will probaby be more unaware that they are missing updates in the first place.
When it comes to updates to the game, if I recall correctly, on Steam, version 1.1 was released on January 21st, whereas the two hotfixes were released on January 25th and 28th, repectively, whereas on GOG (here), version 1.1 and the two hotfixes were released on February 1st.

The point I'm trying to make is that the devs are trying intergrate the main update and the hotfixes on the GOG version so it would be released at the same time. That way it would be consistant with the Steam version and not have the bugs that were on the main update before the hotfixes were released.

And as for when version 2.0 will be released on GOG? I don't know, but all I know is that I'm very patient, unlike most people, and I wouldn't go so far as attacking the devs by calling them "lazy," "incompetent," or all the other derogatory terms that I've heard, because, in my opinion, they are doing their best.
I wouldn't go so far as to call them lazy or incompetent either, but the update delays are almost certainly bordering on negligence. As I understand it, GOG has made the update process almost identical to steam's, so at worst it should involve copy/pasting the their steam update script and tweaking it to hit the GOG servers. After that it should be one button to update both steam and GOG at the same time.

Maybe there's a legitimate reason they haven't done this, but if there is then a short note simply saying they've 'run into trouble and to hang tight' would help put people at ease.

Exactly that's the point, but I've yet to see any response on the "why", rather than just "we're working on it". And then again that's only happening on Steam and not the platform that's actually affected. If you ask around here? No answer at all.
