By default the Linux version requires you to install a few libraries/dependancies before running the game, since they aren't included with the game this can be quite a hassle for some people.

Below you'll find a patch that you can simply extract where you installed M&B Warband and run the game without having to modify your system (and thus no risk of breaking it).

Apparently Mint 18 requires you to install a few more packages than Mint 17, as such I have created a separate patch for Mint 18 users (Tested personally on a Mint 18 64Bit Installation with Intel HD Graphics).

I have tried looking for it on pkg.org and so but so far have not been able to find it.

Where exactly would that be? I ran the .deb file and the game will not run.
It is a poorly made installer that does not include/check for dependencies.

I did figure it out. The location used by the .deb installer is /opt/GOG Games/Mount And Blade - Warband.

I'd be understanding if installing mods took a little research, but the vanilla game should run after installation without additional configuration. Thanks for providing what GOG should have in the first place if it wants to claim Linux support for the game.

I just tried playing Warband and there is a weird issue with it. When I start the game, it looks like some resources are missing and it reports this on the loading screen

STR NOT FOUND ui_processing_ini_file

Same stuff happens in different setting screens. Instead of menu values, you get that STR NOT FOUND.

Any idea what can cause that?

UPDATE: I suspect it might be an XFS issue. A common problem in quite a number of games. I'll test it.

UPDATE2: Yes, that's it! Big XFS partition problem. It's so annoying that this stuff surfaces up so often :( I'll try contacting developers.

Thanks for the update, I'll keep this in check if I go with an XFS partition, this must be like the 5-6th game reported that has this issue.
