Same issue. And it doesn't seem to recognize my gamepad. No gamepad support is BAD for a 2D fighting game.

I just contacted GOG support about the lack of gamepad support. Hopefully, they'll patch it up.
I can't even figure out how to work it with the keyboard and house.
For MK 1 and 2, F1 starts the game, F10 goes to options.

For MK 3, Enter works.

It had gamepad support back in the day so I highly doubt that gog cut that part of the game out.

I just figured it out. F1 is the "start" button. F10 goes into "options". In options, go to CONTROL1 and press right arrow to switch to "4 BUTTON JOYSTICK". I use a Logitech F310 set to Direct Input (it also has an Xinput feature), and it works pretty good.

There's no "high punch" though; the punch button seems to just be a basic punch with no "high" or "low" to it. Still pulls off special attacks that normally involve high punch just fine though.

If you have F310 you can use the profiler and bind actions to keystrokes, then select keyboard in options. It's a workaround but you get all "proper" moves this way.
