I get the following error when trying to start MM6:
"The application could not be initialized (0xc0150002). Click OK to exit the application."
And that's it. The error is in MM6.exe. Already tried reinstalling and redownloading.

Which OS do you use?
Btw did you try to run it in Win95 compatibility mode?

This problem came up for someone else already. Check this thread:

They basically had to install :
http://www.microsoft.com/DOWNLOADS/details.aspx?FamilyID=9b2da534-3e03-4391-8a4d-074b9f2bc1bf&displaylang=en
and it worked.

Try right-clicking on shortcut and running the game as an administrator.

No particular error messages, I tried right clicking on the shortcut and running the game as an administrator like you suggested but no change.

Did you install Greyface's (I think that's his name) patch? I've had that happen to me before when I installed M&M6 from the cd and tried to run it in WinXp.

I love computer games but when it comes to RAR.files I'm stuck I haven't been able to download Grayface I'm obviously going wrong somewhere.

When i try to run M&M VI my system gives me the windows error message and asks if i want to report the problem. The other games open up but VI will not. I have the original game if that would help but i do not know what to do. That was my favorite game on Windows 2000 but now with XP i am at a loss.

Did you try installing the C++ runtime package as per Ralackk's post? You might also want to try Greyface's unofficial patch which can help with compatibility on newer operating systems. Greyface's patch is discussed in one of the sticky threads in this forum.

Crazy as it may sound i right clicked on the Icon and went to properties and changed my compatibilty setting to Win 98 and it works like a charm. Yes i did install the C++ download last night. Thanks i am playing the game now.

Great, glad you got it working! I forgot to suggest the compatibility modes... they actually work surprisingly often!

You may still be interested in Greyface's patch as it offers a bunch of stuff including a mouselook control scheme, strafing controls and the option to disable the intro.
