Hello, everyone. I've been playing Might and Magic VI: Mandate of Heaven and it's a great game. I also have experience with the MM1-5. In all Might and Magic games your characters age. I am aware that in MM6 there are certain monster attacks that can age characters but that be remedied through various means, especially in a fountain that will eliminate any unnatural aging without penalties. My question is if in MM6 natural againg through the passaga of time (leveling, traveling, etc) negativiley impacts your characters because in MM3-5 you got severe stat penalties if your characters got to a really old age. However, I even know there is a trainer in MM6 which has no limit and it would seem illogical to include such a mechanism if your characters are going to drop dead once they hit 60-80 yeras of age. So can anyone confirm if in MM6 advanced age negatively affects your characters or if it doesn't matter unlike in Terra and Xeen?

You age but game time is too short to matter. (I don't mean the game is short. It is expansive. But your players generally finished the quests in 2plus years.)

I second what MacAilpin said. There's no time "cost" for entering shops, and training only takes a week or so per level (or training all currently available levels, depending on which of 6-8 you play). In order to get your natural age up to 60+, you're going to have to work at it, spending quite a bit of your personal time just making time pass in the game.

I'm not even sure that penalties for aging are implemented. It may simply be a number on the character sheet.

I'm not completely sure about mm6 but at least in mm7 and 8 aging makes your physical stats go down and mental stats go up, so in theory having a 90 year old mage could be advantageous but a 20 year old fighter is preferred.

My version of MM6 has one week for all currently available levels, but my versions of MM7-8 require a week per level. (I got all my current versions from GOG.)

Yep. In 6 you try to do as many quests as possible on a level, then train for one week and go up 10 levels (or whatever). That is if you are trying to save game time.
In 7, as you noted, doesn't matter. 10 levels, 10 weeks
