When playing MMVI, you come across a comment from a Free Haven house dweller that "Can you believe the Elves are starting a war over chopping down trees. How am I to make a living."
I know there are truncated story lines in MMVI and VII. Story lines that were dropped during production. But I am also wondering if the Elves War was a story line from and earlier M&M?

MM VI was the first M&M game set within that world, so I shouldn't think so. MM I-V were set on altogether different planets, so it would be pretty odd if they had anything to do with it.

Don't know if the Timber Wars were ever mentioned in Heroes of Might and Magic 1 or 2, since I never tried those games. I doubt they were, unless anybody who's played them wants to comment and can confirm some reference.

The previous MM's are on another planet. Did not know that. So that would make it a dropped story line.
Thanks.

If you keep going with MM7, part of the main storyline is connected to MM3, so even though they are on separate planets they are definitely within the same universe :)

Having said that, every MM game generally has a very loose connection with the past games (except 4 and 5, which combine to make one big game). MM6 and MM9 really broke away and have very little reference to the previous games, from memory.

Many of them have pop culture references to Star Trek as well, so keep an eye out ;)

Live long and Prosper (as the healer says in Ironfist)
MM6 has many references besides those to Star Trek; some cultural, some real life; some well known, some less so, some local to the developers' office. I found two surviving (as of a year or two ago) fan web pages listing some of them.
I always get a kick out of Cuisnart
I'm a Brit, so the cuisinart joke meant nothing to me.

It can slice and dice. I still get a kick out that
