This could be a dumb question, but I have never played MM3 before. How do I change the characters on my initial party?

Thanks!

Go back to the Inn. The option to change your party (and create new characters) will be there.

Please note that entering an inn automatically saves your game.

Not a dumb question. MM3 manual is very lacking when it comes to explaining game mechanisms.
Thanks!
Lol, I started this up last weekend and ran into the same thing. I kept making more characters but couldn't get them into my party. I think I just started to hit buttons and figured it out. But then I ended up in a dark area, people started dying and that was that.
Hope to give it another shot sometime soon.

you can cast Light spell to see in dark areas.

In general MM3 doesn't have gradual difficulty increase lie newer games, you can run into difficult areas from the very beginning. If something is too tough, just come back later.

heh, i was pretty sure there were and are ways to get around any situation and i'll figure it out when i decide to play next.
I guess I was trying to say the game comes with a learning curve and jumping in and knowing instinctively what to do, like with many of today's games, is not gonna happen. not saying that as a good or bad thing, only that its different.

I mean i hadn't even opened up the manual and was moving around with arrow keys, running around carelessly. also had to figure out you had to click a number of keys in succession to cast a spell, and i need to keep my spellbook open to make sure i cast the right spell. etc. All of which I'll be better at next time now that I know what to expect.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the game!
