Yeah, I'm generally not the exploit type, but after a while I gave up on taking them on in straight combat. Besides, getting a big enemy stuck in a little tunnel is a legitimate combat strategy. :P

Yeah, my only issue with Walls of Mist was that my Invisibility ran out about 2/3 of the way through, so I kept getting murdered by swarms of elementals. I eventually ended up dashing out of the Walls, jumping down from Celeste, casting Fly in mid-air, flying away, and recasting invisibility. It was all very dramatic.

Actually, now I think of it, I think I only have it Mastered. Not sure why I never got around to GMing it, I'm gonna do that as soon as I can. Question: Is it more profitable to use GM Vampiric Weapon, GM Fire Aura, or GM Enchant Weapon before selling weapons or do they add the same amount to value?

(And GM'd. Wait, since I buy and sell at cost that means I can make infinite money by buying something, enchanting it, and selling it back, yeah?)

On any map can always find a safe corner where you are far enough from enemies (including those at the other side of the walls) to recast Invisibility. That spell broke the game, IMO. It should be nerfed significantly, for example by having it last for a much shorter period of time, or by adding enemies who can see through invisibility. Running through the map unscathed is easy, but enduring a bloody slog through a dungeon and reaching the end is much more satisfying!

Although I do agree that it's kind of broken, it is part of the fun. One of the things that's great about these games is that it's not afraid to really build you up. At first rats kill you easily, but eventually you're teleporting around, flying across the map, launching barrages of stars at people, etc. I do agree that enemies who can see through it would work fine, though. Beholders, perhaps?

On Merchant Grandmastering: Although it's cool that you can buy things, enchant them, and sell them back for a profit it's... pretty tedious. The max value of most un-enchanted weapons in the store at The Pit are only around 500, so it'd require a lot of back-and-forth to really make significant profits.

Might and Magic games are awesome because you have open world for exploring from very beginning. You can buy invisible and telekines spells, go to the dungeon with great treasure chest and simply steal good stuff, if you want to :) I love cast invisible and be at places where I shoudn't be. But enemies are hard and you really will be forced to fight face to face with some of them, so sooner or later your party will be fight all night long :)

Yeah, playing a game where you rush Master Air for Invisibility would make everything pretty easy as long as you're careful with your cooldowns. Behemoths aren't really plausible to stealth past, though. They're too huge!

EDIT: Incidentally, speaking of building up the player; one would think that my money woes would lessen as I got stronger, but nope. I have tons of levels in reserve, a lot of skill training to do (my Knight has 10 Body Building, but I'm not sure I've even Experted it yet), and a bunch of spells to buy (even with GM Merchant, Dark Spells are not cheap).

There is an easy way to solve your problem with gold - as far I've seen (I haven't read all your posts - just wen briefly through them) you have GM invisibility. Cast it and explore Titans' Stronghold. Do not fight any monster, just do the looting. There are a lot of chest with gold and powerful artifacts - sell them and you will have even more gold . Of course keep those which are suitable for your team.

Later on there is a very nice way to gain a lot of XP: in the Land of Giants cast Armageddon as many times as you can. Then heal your party and wait until midnight. But DO NOT REST - just wait! At the beginning of a new day you can cast Armageddon again. Heal your party, wait again (without resting of course), cure the weakness (your team will get it because they are not resting) and cast a few Armageddons once again. In this way you will kill every monster and they are really strong (dragons and titans) so you will get a lot of XP. But you cannot rest because the monsters will heal as well - it doesn't happen if you just wait.

EDIT: I forgot to mention: looting dragon and titans corpses should solve your problems with gold as well!

Titan's Stronghold is really nice, right. I usually rush for the very first chest at the beggining of the game (there is few chests that can help improve your start - nice idea 3DO!). But how about teams without good disarm skill? For example 4 points expers hunter. Do you know how strong disarm should be to explore this stronghold?

Aarrgh, you people are making me want to play MMVII again, despite being into Anachronox right now!

Woah, turns out enchanting & selling is more profitable than I thought. I was previously using Vampiric Weapon because I hadn't maxed Fire magic, but not that I've maxed it, Fire Aura is way better! Vampiric Weapon doubles the weapon's value, Fire Aura adds 2000.

I don't remember. It's been a while... OP mentioned that he has a thief in his party so I guessed he has someone with a decent disarm skill.

Yeah, I ended up Grandmastering Disarm, but I recall reading somewhere that it's not actually necessary.

I never heard of it but it's not a surprise - I think I haven't read any walkthroughs, guides etc. It doesn't matter though - either way you can loot the Titans' Stronghold for sure (I highly recommend it)

And just one more thing: remember to bring your ore to Erathia where you can have it crafted. The better ore the better item (duh!) and you can always sell unwanted equipment.
