I have Might and Magic 9 on CD that I bought back when it first came out. I'd like to play it again, but can't get it running on my Windows 7 laptop. I got the game installed and applied the last patch I could find for it. I was able to set up my characters, but as soon as I went to game play it gave me a box saying to search online for the reason it's not working. Does anyone know what the problem is and how do I fix it?

Also I've seen that the MM6, MM7, & MM9 downloads available to buy on this site say the games are compatible with Windows 7. Do they have some fix that allows them to work with Widows 7? Just wondering since I'm having issues with the games on CD I have already. I was thinking about buying those downloads, but am worried that if the Disc's I have here don't work then maybe the downloads won't work either. I just want to be sure they definitely will work with my laptop if I buy them.

As far as I'm aware M&M VI-VIII have the latest official patches applied and that's it. For what it's worth, I'm running Windows 7 on ATI hardware and M&M VI-VIII run fine. I have to run M&M VIII as admin otherwise I get some weird issues with loading save games; other than that it's fine. That's me though - the only real way for you to find out is to try them I suppose.

Yeah I already had that patch applied. I think what I'll do is D/L one of the earlier M&M games and if it works then D/L the others. They're cheap enough to D/L that I'd rather not deal with trying to figure it out with the Discs I have. Thank you though.
