Using Greyface's patch. One live char, 3 dead bodes. Casting Haste fails...presumably due to the dead bodies. Spell or scroll. Casting Hour of Power is allowed; but the Haste aspect fails.

Running the unpatched game, Haste does work.

Has anyone else seen this?

EDIT: I think I found it. The patch checks for the Weak condition. It is set on the dead characters...Cleared it using MM7CHE, and I can use the spell. This makes sense; the patch doesn't let you Haste a Weak char, as there would be no downside. It may be interesting to see if I have to do this repeatedly...but I expect it was just the result that I may have had a party kill, while on Emerald Isle. That revived everyone, and at that point, they are indeed Weak.

Hm. If I don't want the 3 others to revive, should I just set them to Eradicated?

If you mean that you had a party wipe on EI (everyone dead), then eradication shouldn't prevent them from being brought back when you respawn. For that matter, I wouldn't think your characters would be brought back in the Weak condition either. Granted, its been many, many years since I've experienced a wipe on EI.

One thing to check is whether haste is being applied to the dead characters, and if it is, then see whether Weak is being applied when Haste runs out.

Edit: Actually, I don't use Greyface, so perhaps things are different on respawn with the patch.

In Greyface's patch, yes, Weak does get applied to a dead character. And I don't think it ever gets removed by rest or training.

And, yes, it does attempt to apply haste to all chars, and apply Weak when it runs out.

Annoying.
