Hey all. I have a quick question on how a relic works. I found the relic "Justice" (Undead slaying, of Mind magic, of Body magic, -40 speed, Good). However, my Cleric cannot equip the weapon and I'm not sure why. Is it because the -40 speed would put me below 0? Or the "good" part (I'm not entirely sure what that even means)? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Good? You have to choose a path Good or Evil in the game--- two different RPG Paths. It comes after * minor spoiler below*
It might be the speed. You can try a speed potion to test it.
Or it could be because you have not yet chosen a path-- so the game mechanics doesn't see your Cleric as good which is required for Justice.

Spoiler. The Judge Dies and you have to pick a new one: Good Judge and Bad Judge which determine your path.
The Judge is you answer man on "I lost it" etc on you Harmondale Map

The problem is almost certainly because you haven't chosen the Good alignment. Either you chose Evil (the interface will have changed color to be all black and red), or you haven't chosen yet (more likely, and the interface will be the neutral colors it was at the start of the game). If you don't know what choosing Good/Evil means yet, then you haven't chosen.

Stats can go below 0 without any issue that I've seen (I had a Knight once who was using an artifact that sapped his Intellect and/or Personality).

[Edit to add] For the sake of completeness, I'll mention the only other possibility (besides not choosing Good) that I can think of that would block a Cleric from using Justice: your Cleric has learned the Mace skill, correct?

[Edit 2] Clerics start with Mace, so never mind that last question. When you're offered the choice, side with Good and your Cleric should then be able to use Justice.

don't listen to the do gooder goobers, join the dark side we have more powerful artifacts! well not actually but we have more interesting quests and you won't get aids from wall of light and arena.
/facepalm

I should have known that meant I had to choose the path of good. It's been too long since I've played. I was thinking about choosing path of evil, but I guess I'll need to at least consider the path of good. Kind of wasted my loot from the dragon at the beginning if I do decide to go evil.
