Tough time with these girls. Any hints?
Rape them.

But to be serious, they probably can be hit only by males or only by females, so a good balance ia a good idea.

So far only magic seems to work and that is about one out of four tries. Can't hit them or shoot. Not even my female paladin.
Try using Skill Potions or the Hero spell on your female Paladin and see if that helps.

Alrighty,..let you know....
If you need to use skill potions, chances are you just aren't high enough level to tackle them yet. I've noticed that character level is often the biggest factor in whether enemies can be hit or whether spells succeed when cast at enemies. In MM2, boosting character stats really high can help a lot too, but character level is still really important.

If you're running into warrior maidens that you simply can't seem to damage, perhaps try exploring other places for a while and returning when you're higher level.

In this other thread it was confirmed that some monsters are immune to attack from certain genders:

http://www.gog.com/en/forum/might_and_magic_series/mm2_are_there_gender_specific_monsters

So it's possible that warrior maidens can only be hurt by female characters, for example. I think this only applies to attacks, so your male characters could use spells on them.

Still, gaining some levels isn't a bad idea anyway.
Yes indeed. Waltorious is right. They can only be hurt by females.
(only applies to weapon damage. magic damage is not gender dependent).

Great, I only have one female paladin.
Maybe you'll find a place to change gender. For emergencies you can hire NPCs but that shouldn't be necessary considering the spells your males can cast directly or with items.
At least you'll have an easier time fighting monsters which can only be hurt by males.
