On my latest play through, I've encountered some kind of bug. I am unable to leave the Elemental Planes. Normally, in order to get out you simply rest, and you are returned to the Middlegate Inn. This worked the very first time on this go round, but for some reason it stopped working after that. I rest, and I remain in whichever plane I am in, unable to get out. I redownloaded the game a couple weeks ago to replay it, and this is the first time I have encountered this particular problem. Does anyone know if there was an update that might have messed with it, or if there is a patch? Or even if I am somehow doing something wrong?

Did you try resting repeatedly? With each rest, there is only a chance (not 100%) of returning to the present time.

from my explorations i found tha elemental planes and timetravel you seem to have a
time limit before it brings you back to your present

so resting usually let me return, though i do remember a few times where i had to rest a
few times before it kicked me back to the present

this is recollections from my original foray into mm2 years ago, i as yet havent gotten
far enough since buying here on gog

I had tried that, but I guess not enough. I just gave it a shot, and it worked after the fourth rest. I don't remember that from any of my previous play-throughs of the game over the last 25 years, but that's what makes it fun. Maybe what threw me off was that it worked the first time, on the first rest. Thanks a lot!
