Foucter: It's been quite a while since I've played MM2. The monsters sure can beat you up fast, even starting with Level 7 characters. Weapons and armor are limited.

Actually I felt with hindsight that importing characters made it a little more difficult. A fair few encounters (even in fixed places) seem to be randomly generated scaled to your level and the trouble with starting at level 7 is you don't start with level 7 equipment or spell books (starting only with the minimum spells and missing a lot of useful ones, especially combat ones) but you do fight level 7 monsters a lot.
Does anyone know if the letters in front of armor mean/symbolize anything? Like B scale mail or I ring mail. In the cluebook I can see what extra abilities they give, but I'm curious why such letters where chosen in the first place... (why not use ABCDEF for example)...

I think it's the material. B could stand for bronze, I for iron, S for silver, G for gold.

That seems to be it.

(I thought it was colours, but couldn't figure out what was S :o)

This is one thing that does annoy me about these games. This stuff should be in the manuals not just the clue books.(And they moved the spells into the clue books for games 3-5!).

That's definitely it -- bronze. The materials only work for armor types (shield, armor, helm)

I am working on some excel-based pdfs for the monsters, spells, weapons, armor, and items; compiled from the cluebook for MM2, like I did for MM1. They're reference material. I plan to make them available to anyone who wants them. All's I did basically was make it much more presentable, and easy to read and understand

It is helpful to know what some of these things do, since there's no way to tell within the game; all you get is the number of charges left.

Let me know if you all think this is a bad idea, and I'll just keep it to myself. 8)

Yes, I know about this site. I found it incomplete and lacking in some details. True, it is the most complete MM2 site on the web, but I personally can't be on the web and playing MM2 at the same time.

Once I pdf the files tonight, I will post a link here for you to compare one of them.
Here's one of the pdfs from my reference sheets. I don't know the syntax to make this a file link, so paste this address to find it.

What do you think?

You just need an http:// in front of it to make it a link.

It didn't work for me, I'm afraid.

Did you try copying and pasting the address into a blank tab? It works for me.... humm? The url is locked. You can access the file, but not the file directory, which happened to me when I put the "http" in front of it to make a link.

Sorry, my web skills are not that great, so I do the best I can! 8)

The http:// in front is not mandatory, but it's best to be there, and the slash must be / and not \ that you used. Link above should work.
Thanks very much, JMich!

I learn something new all the time! Plus!!! I finally... decades of finally... got wireless dsl at home!! With which I am typing this! Only took 'em 10 years.
Foucter, the tables format etc is much better than the one in the cluebook. Thanks.

By the way, you can get more info about an item if you identify it in a blacksmith shop (charges, what spell it casts and other info). Much better than mm1 where it was not possible.

I'm going on a two week holiday, so I'm taking a break from the game till I return.
