Hi all

Forgive the silly question but if - IF - someone had an ongoing game started on their work computer and wished to transfer progress to their home computer, which files would they need to replace in the Might and Magic 1 folder on the home PC? Is it possible to just email them over and replace the necessary files to update my progress?
AFAIK the only file you need is ROSTER.DTA

PetrusOctavius is right. Only Roster.dta is needed. However given how small the game is by today's standards, if you plan on playing the game on multiple PCs, a simple solution might be to just copy the whole game folder on a USB stick and play the game off it. Saves you having to remember which one you played it on last and which PC has the latest save game on it.
Cheers gents. So that file contains any changes made to the game world as well as your party - or does the game not work like that?

No. That file only contain changes made to your party.

Due to its age, the game does not save the state of the world at all. It's constant and doesn't change ever. All interactions with the world are dependent on the party.

e.g. a hobbit asks you to deliver his sword to his brother. If you take the sword from him and talk to him wirh the sword in your inventory, he will assume he already asked you to deliver it. If instead you create a new party and talk to him without the sword, he'll assume he hasn't asked talked to you yet, and will give you his sword again to deliver it.
