I read that Mind affecting spells such as Charm, Mass Fear and Feeblemind only work in real time mode. I can confirm they definitely do not work in turn based. So if you cast it in real time, will toggling back into turn based mode kill the effect? I was thinking to cast in real time, but go into TB to think about a move, then go back to real time, sort of a poor man's RTwP.

All in all if this is true it's very disappointing. I can't fathom the reasoning behind it.

1) Which game are you talking about?

2) I don't know whether it is true. If it is, then it is almost certainly a bug, not an intended effect. For example, in MM6, if a character gets hit during real time while they have over 400 in a stat, then the game will crash. This is a bug in the logic for real time, and it doesn't exist in the logic path for turn based (so getting hit in turn based combat won't cause the crash).

It's MM VI. It's posted about in forums from many years back, and I've confirmed it. I tried greyfaces patch but didn't fix it :(

You could always open up the spellcasting menu to think about the next move. Or any other menu, all of them pause the time unless I'm mistaken.
