Gilivec: I've got a bad feeling about this and i'll be extremely disappointed if "MMX" was a throwback to MM3-5, i'd rather get a DA / NWN type of game than a bunch of static 2d images and blocky maps, we're not in the early 90s anymore.
Not trying to say that older M6M were bad, they were great for their time (and still enjoyable now) but it's time to move forward.
You're kidding, right?
A high-def, hand-drawn, beautifully animated throwback in the style of MM3-5 would be exactly what the doctor ordered. Heck, even a Legend of Grimrock style would be awesome.
While it would be interesting to see them try and pull off something like a huge, big-budget Dragon Age style game, it's more likely for something in that vein to be overproduced, watered down, and pandering to the least common denominator of gamers. Big budget products simply have to make a play for big returns on the investment.
By contrast, a smaller-budget title that unabashedly embraces the series' roots and makes a big play for old-school fans will be more likely to be the sort of game I'll want to play and also have more leeway to do something new and interesting.
Nickcronomicon: The guys at the official Might and Magic twitter are throwing huge things around though. "Hands-on at Pax East"; posting pictures of MM3 and Worlds of Xeen etc
The "hands on" comment was in reply to someone asking about the new Heroes 6 expansion. That doesn't mean MMX won't also be hands on, but there certainly hasn't been a confirmation of that.
