thanks man I was mistaken. I have it already, lol.
Augh!! I cleared out the lighthouse except the guy at the top. He was one shot party killing me. I decided to take out bandits for a while, but damn near every time I fight more than 3 at a time it just locks up. I'm not sure I like tile based movement all that much. There are inside dungeon corridors and outside dungeon corridors. The player characters all speak over each other and they don't even have any animations. I read dev blog threads and their spokeswoman keeps saying they don't have the budget for this or that or anything. I'm beginning to smell a cynical cash grab. I already payed 30 dollars and what I've seen so far isn't worth 10 dollars. They made a mistake bundling M&M 6 with it. I started playing 6 again and it is much better.

It's also an early access version of the game, i.e. alpha at most. If you were expecting a polished product you should've waited until next year before purchasing.
The boss at the top of the lighthouse can one shot you if you stand too close to the lighthouse edge, he pushing you off ;) bring the fight to him close on!

Yup, That works. Thanks Nicko. I've always liked the Dutch! :)

ArbitraryWater: Alpha/ Beta/ whatever still doesn't change the fact that you are wandering corridors regardless of whether you are inside or outside. I was super disappointed with MM9. I was hoping this would be an updated 6 through 8, and it isn't. More time and polish won't change that fact. I'm not saying it is awful or anything, but if they are going to stick to the tile thing they had better make each and every tile interesting. Honestly, I wasn't expecting polish, but I did expect to see the bones of the irreverent exploration that made MM 2 through 8 so much fun.
Happy to help!
so ... after some googling I can't seem to find the answer to my question so I guess I'd ask here :

Has anyone got any idea what the physical box will contain? I'm thinking of pre-ordering it, but if it's only the DVD i don't really see the use of it. Any maps, miniatures, fancy guidebooks ... ?

**EDIT: hurr, durr, nevermind, was on the site itself. I should learn to read.

It always surprises me when people complain it's not worth 30$. Setting aside the fact that the game is still very much work in progress, the price is not 30$. The collector's edition is 30$, with a cloth map and all. The regular edition will no doubt be cheaper.

It is a budget title, but right now it's either that or no Might and Magic at all.
So...just so I have this straight, if you buy the physical boxed set version you will NOT have to use Steam? Because Steam is a deal breaker for me. I can deal with some DRM methods but Steam is absolutely horrid IMO and I went so far as to uninstall and never re-install many games I had purchased through steam (thankfully most of them came to Gog for me to get again). I also was awarded a few games as prizes for doing some things but since they were through Steam only I had to reject them.

I guess I will just wait for the game to come to GOG rather than deal with U-Play or Steam.

The game uses and launches through UPlay, no matter where you get the game from.

Not if it comes to GOG...which is what I will wait for because I can't have anymore bad experiences with U-Play and Steam. I just can't do it anymore. I bought games that were so buggy on release that some of them could even wipe out your OS on install/uninstall (i.e. Pool of Radiance: RoMD) and Steam managed to be worse for me than those.

Its gonna take a good few years before MMX will release here I bet, hope you have patience then ;)
True-PC players are patient.
And the game should at last become good, with patch or mods.
See the UBI forum, how the game is for now a bad M&M.

So far everybody's been talking about gameplay...

but does it have the MM world's vibe? Or does it feel like something generic in this aspect? what about the story, dialogues, music, art direction?
