Flight with the Z axis can usually get you passed the Titans. Keep going up and down can avoid a lot of enemy incoming. Feather Fall is useful when they get your Wizard (and they will from time to time.)

The devils, if I remember correctly, I got with Starburst. Again use flight to diminish the effect of Meteor. If you are on the ground or near it when the Meteors hit, you will have trouble. I hovered near the ground until it was the devils' turn then hit the up flight ASAP.

Thanks. However, I don't use the "fly while in turn based combat" tactic. It feels like abusing the system.

How would I replace the Z movement? Pick a spot along a rill or hill. Run to it, unload with death blossom, starburst, or meteor, then run out of range. The rill should keep direct fire off of you. As for the Meteor storms. You can heal; the opposition doesn't. So running up to; then running back, that should give you the time to heal your team as needed.

Otherwise have a whole lot of wands to replace dead wizards.

I feel envy that you aren't spoiled by game-breaking stuff in MM 7 yet.

Look for the well in the Land of Giants, use Protection from Magic and keep drinking from that well (until you will run out of Protection of Magic charges) :D

After that titans will become a minor nuisance at worst.

Edit: If you want to do it "fair" way, you can wait for respawns in dungeons and do them again. Some place like Maze are very lucrative in terms of exp and gold. Higher level = more skill points, more HP, more power :)

Thank your. I'm seriously considering this. The Titan fortress is a serious candidate, though I did it very recently so it will take some time to respawsn. Maze sounds good too.

The Titans do seem like the type of enemies that would fall should I be a few levels higher. I am concerned about the meteor shower though. I mean it brings my HP down to -500 for my cleric. How many more levels do I need to face this...

Was it death from meteor shower or from instant-death effect (Blood Titans had this ability)? If instant death, then protection from magic greatly helps here (and it isn't part of Day of Gods/Protection). Also, did you do Priest promotion quest?

You might want to single out Devil Captains and Devil Warriors. You may tr to fight them near cliffs, so that not all meteors hit you. Devil Captain's Meteor Shower caps at 320 damage (that's damage from all their 16 Meteors against 0 Fire Resist), Devil Warrior's version caps at 256 damage (under same conditions).

i think it looks quite bearable after monsters' density in MM 6. I will never forget that one last room in Castle Darkmoor.. or rooms of death in Gharik's Forge. Some Devil Captains are nothing in comparison ;) Unless you really lack some survival from levels.

I meant death from devil's meteor shower (and not death, but unconsciousness, since I cast Preservation). If I'm lucky I survive up to a few of the showers, but there are so many of them, eventually one will kill me. HP goes to few hundred below 0 though, so even regeneration won't save me.

I cast Protection from Magic so am safe from Titan's instant death.

All promotion quests done.

Have you cleared the dragons from their area on this map?

Not yet. I met the Titans at the entrance, and then went further to see the devils. I'll check the dragons first then, and see how easy they are.

I rather look forward to hearing about your impression of the dragon area of this map. There are a lot of them, and they are packed in pretty tight. The Dark Path second Druid promotion requires making your way through this area, making it perhaps the toughest promotion quest in my opinion; on the flip side, the reward is pretty sweet. Using Fly to dodge attacks works against the titans and devils, but the majority of the dragons are actually above Fly's ceiling.

As for dealing with this area, I'm not sure you are supposed to be able to use similar tactics as you do for other areas and weaker monsters. As I recall, this area is reputed in game to be a virtual death trap, and you are a group of four small humanoids against some of the toughest things in the game.

One thing that might help is putting life stealing weapons on your knight, even if those weapons don't do the highest damage of the weapons you've found. He can be leeching hp and act as an hp battery for the cleric's Shared Life (for everyone who is conscious).

If you have enough ancient weapons, you could hold the Attack key in real time to machine gun things down with the phasers.

Honestly though, I don't think I've ever fully cleared this area; it just never quite seemed worth the effort to me. I use Invisibility to get to my targets and get out again.

ZFR mentioned having two characters severely negative on health, with preserve life keeping them alive. Which made me wonder: if two characters are severely negative on health, could casting "shared life" knock everyone unconscious?

As much as I like having spell power, I have to agree keeping a wizard alive is a major pain. I'm sad to see it's a problem at level 70, as I'm around half that level now and my wizard feels very fragile. Hope it gets easier for you (and later, me).

I think main problem people have in MM 7 is that it doesn't provide as much things to do to gain levels as in MM 6. MM 6 had much larger world. I didn't invest anything in learning and had around 80-90 Lv when was finishing with 4 Castles. But even then I was avoiding to clear Dragonsand (I am not fan of cheating it with real-time mode too). Tomb of VARN monsters were just miles easier than all those dragons.

In my opinion, some areas are just not made to be cleared during normal gameplay. Storyline dungeons and bosses are just so much easier than places like Land of Giants or Dragonsand.

Wizard specific problem is also that they have 25% less HP in MM 7 than in MM 6 and can't learn Body Building iirc. Which is a very big survival nerf from MM 6.

Shared Life skips anyone who is unconscious when counting HP in the party. Unconscious members also don't receive any HP. Sadly, the final total is still divided by 4, regardless of how many people are actually "participating" in the Shared Life. At least the spell adds a few hp to the pool on its own (not a many, but a some).

ZFR, how were you trying to fight the Titans and Devils? Did you stay at extreme range so only one or two would actually "activate" and start firing at you, or did you move into melee to provide the much faster butt whooping melee allows for?
