I've bought and downloaded the Might and Magic 6-Pack Limited Edition for old time's sake but can't seem to be able to play them!

After installation, let's say I want to play Might and Magic 3. If i go in its directory and double-click MM3.exe or Install.exe or MM3.com it just says that it can't run (Error executing program).
I've also tried the Graphic mode setup.exe and all it does is pop up a small window asking me which graphic mode I want. I've tried them all (by pressing "save settings" and then "launch") to no avail.

Do I really need to start DosBox manually, mount everything and do it all so that I can play the games?

EDIT :: ok : how do I play the game without having to start them from the start menu shortcuts?

Go to your start menu link for your game, right-click it, select properties and you can see which files are linked and which settings are used.
DOSBox can be tricky. GOG designed the start menu entries (and the desktop shortcuts) to work automatically, so that's the easiest way to launch the game. I prefer to use the desktop shortcuts myself. I recommend this method as GOG has created specific configuration files for each DOSBox game, so they are optimized for the most part. If you want to change any settings, you can edit the .conf file that comes with each individual game to alter the settings for it. And as long as you run it from the shortcut, it will load up and use the .conf file that you edited, so it will accept your new settings.

If you really want to launch manually, the brute force method is to launch DOSBox and mount everything. You can also edit the DEFAULT .conf file to automatically mount the game directory when DOSBox starts, but then you'd have to change up the .conf file every time you wanted to run a different game. There's probably a method to get DOSBox to automatically load the specific .conf file that's linked to the game, but honestly once you're doing that you're basically doing the same thing that GOG's shortcut is doing.

Anyone know how to manually get DOSBox to load a specific .conf file? My guess is that the easiest way to do it is to make a shortcut like GOG did.

Thanks! This does indeed look like what GOG does already when the MM games are installed. So the default desktop shortcuts are probably the easiest way to run the games.

Go here:
https://www.gog.com/account

Click on the game you want.

Click Download Offline Backup Game Installers. (see attachments).

Run the downloaded file.

Should be straightforward from then. It installs the game and creates a shortcut that you can use to run the game.

Let me know if you have any more questions

I don't know gog galaxy at all, but playing without it, if Windows asks is it ok for the app (game) to change my device, that usually means adjusting the screen settings (resolution) so that the old game can fill the whole screen rather than just one corner. When it finishes the game does change them back.

When installing, if Windows asks is it ok to make changes to my system, my answer is "Yes" - putting files onto my drive and an icon onto my desktop is the whole purpose of installing.
