Every time I start the game, it shows a black screen and a few seconds later it just closes the application. If I try to run it again it shows a message "Previous launch was unsuccessful. Would you like to start in safe mode?" and no matter whether I click yes or no the result is the same mentioned before. I tried disable fullscreen from the "user" file, but things don't change.

Did anyone write? If that is the case, I can't see your post.

There are supposed to be some replies to your question but they aren't showing up for me either. GOG is having a terrible time making things work around here!

Anyway, I installed the game and was playing around with the settings. When I turned on the Advanced PhysX in the Game Options it said it wouldn't take affect until it was restarted. When I restarted I got the exact same problem that you described. To fix it I went into the Nvidia Control Panel in the PhysX setup and switched it from Auto-select to CPU. Then the game started fine. I never tried selecting GPU and have since uninstalled the game. I'll get back to it at a later date. You might want to try selecting the GPU.

Do you have an Nvidia graphics card? If so, the Nvidia control panel will be in your Control Panel. In the Nvidia control panel you should see the sub headings on the left side. Under 3D Settings you should see Set PhysX Configuration. Click on that and you'll see a place to set the PhysX processor. Click on that and you'll see the options I mentioned.

No, it is AMD.

I'm sorry. I wasted your time with my reply. I know nothing about AMD configuration and how it handles PhysX.

Windows 8.1 AMD E1-2100 APU with integrated graphics (Not exactly the best, I know) 4 GB ram.

Creo que ese es el problema. Las ediciones REDUX de la saga Metro son MUY exigentes en materia de hardware y por lo que leí, el gpu integrado al AMD E1-2100 es MUY debil; no es para juegos... Si anda, vas a jugar a cámara lenta.

I think that's the problem. The REDUX editions of the METRO SAGA are very demanding in terms of hardware and from what I read, the AMD E1-2100 integrated GPU is very weak; is not for games.. If it works, You will play in slow motion.

Well, another one for the "Once I build a good gaming PC" list.
Why has this been marked as solved?
