CDJ75: Yeah, I don't know what's the deal with the framerate, the Subsistence port already suffered from this (While the MG2 port on the other hand played way better than the original MSX version.) but the enemy placements are sort of an improvement. The big difference is that the original MSX version had more areas that you straight up couldn't enter without causing an alert, often one that you could simply escape by moving to a different screen. Not a big deal in the OG version, but since they added a ranking system to the Subsistence version, i.e. at the end of the game you get ranked for how few enemies you killed, how few alarms you've raised, number of deaths, saves, playtime etc., they went and reduced the amount of mandatory alarms in the game. There still are a few alarms you can't get around, I think there are, like 3 or 4, but that's about it.
DIdn't know they added ranking system, thanks. Can't say I like how guards was placed in trucks like that one with keycard 1.
In original when you enter, guard will immediately spotted. What you need to do is simply wait outside for guard to exit the truck. In this version when you enter, guard patrolling to the left, so you are free to sneak around and deal with him no problem. May be it was made in such way to accommodate new ranking system, but I feel it diminished some experiences in the process.
One other thing I don't remember in Subsistence was a siren sound when spotted by camera. For some reason in current port, siren sounds only once, then quiet alert theme starts to play, but after a few seconds it abruptly restarts with normal volume. In original siren repeated four times before alert theme starts. A bug? Or it was like that back in MGS3 port?
