Hello, Fellow foxhounder i'm having an issue that i find a bit strange and i don't know what is causing it. For further research i need your help.

The issue : It's quite simple i will play the game everything will be fine but, then an issue will randomly appear. At first he will be framedrops (That is the sign that hardware crash will soon happen if i don't restart my PC or game).

Now if i persist to play. The game will lock my periphericals (Keyboard , mouse and controller) That include in-game and in my windows. However a few essential key works like windows or the soft reboot.

Cause : Is unknown and it's exactly why i ask help to resolve it as Konami Support is dead and their support page don't even have support for it.

Does anyone have/had that issue and how to resolve it.
Thanks,
What specs are you running?

I'm trying to figure this one out cause I remember when the game first came out me and a few others did extensive testing to help GOG fix a lot of the bugs and crashing that was happening on launch. I know a few patches by GOG was done to fix as much of the game as possible and they said that there is legit no more they can do to fix so what we get is what we get.

Me and a few have never came across this one. It might be new or specific to your system. I wonder if its your windows install that might just need to be fresh installed again or conflicting drivers causing this.

I currently run Windows 11 latest build with no issues pushing it at 4k without crashes.

Please post specs and windows build and such maybe I can help more with this information.

Sorry for the very late reply.

I'm on Windows 11. And he seems my issue is caused by Either DDraw or Xinput.

Edit: i'm on Win 11 lastest build. I think i should try to reinstall the game to see if that fix it but, just so you know it's the only game to do weird stuff like that.

I'm on Windows 10 and have recently been streaming the game and the same thing happened to me, but I don't get the frame drops. However after about 15-20 minutes of gameplay it will randomly freeze mid cutscene, loop the same line, stream continues to run but if I Alt+Ctrl+Del then the whole computer freezes. Usually a hard restart of the rig will be all it needs and next time I play the game everything is perfectly fine.
Did Anyone find any fix for that issue? Because the steam version (MGS1 Master Collection is terrible).

I've had something similar happen to me with MSX Metal Gear but it just won't play at all. It just keeps making me reboot my PC and I've had that game for two years now, when I tried installing it again recently it refuses to run. I'm afraid to even have to reinstall Metal Gear Solid if I have to if this is happening. I'm getting suspicious if this is gog or konami somehow creating a broken state with the installers to limit the originals to promote the "master" collection.

Thanks for the reply, Yeah i would not be surprised. The PC version is so much more superior then the terrible MC one. This is actual hardware and not some barebone emulation with some blur on top of it.

Sure it doesn't crash but that doesn't make it a good release imo.
