Still no news on when it's coming back?
Hello! I want to show you a new stealth game for mobile devices. Metal Stealth X is the legacy of the MGS game series. Now 9 levels are available in the game, new mechanics are being developed, if you like this project, then it will grow into something big.

disulfiram: Still no news on when it's coming back?
Konami announced months ago that they were preparing to relist delisted Metal Gear games on various digital stores. No word since then. I wonder what´s taking them so long? Maybe a remaster of the Metal Gear games is coming like the rumors suggest and they are waiting to release that.
It really only needs a port of the HD collection and part 4 on PC, if they do a remaster, then I think more of part 4, so that all titles are published on PSN/Xbox Shop, if that's true it would be a great move on Gog bring to.
I guess it will never come back. Any chance the new collection will be available here?

SmollestLight: We’d like to inform you that, upon the publisher's request, METAL GEAR SOLID 2 will be temporarily delisted from our catalog on November 15th, 2021, at 8AM UTC. Apologies for the short notice.

For everyone who purchased the title prior to delisting, it will remain in their GOG library.
Steam now lists MGS1 / MGS2 / MGS3 to be released in 3 month.
GOG should at least react to this message. And say if they will release it too.
Or we will have to buy it on Steam.

At this point I don't expect MGS2 to come back to GOG, specially with the release of this and other games of the franchise on Steam. Considering they had to edit some stuff from the game due to expired licenses, I don't see them bothering doing that with the old PC release.

I don't expect it returning as it'd basically be a cheaper version of MGS2 you could buy instead of the HD release, plus it'd be impossible to edit/remove the said copyrighted content in a port as old as this and no one would bother. Very unlikely to return.

Completely agree. Why bother fixing the old release when there is a new edition coming out? If anything it's more likely the Master Collection releases on GOG someday (I don't think that's gonna happen either though). I think anyone wanting the series on PC is better off getting them on Steam (Rising and V are only available on Steam).

I don't quite agree with that (Konami), delisting older versions of games that are cheaper and are able to run on lower end systems is erasure and goes against GOG's preservation motto. An option should always be available for everyone.

Plus this version ends up being superior in the sense that it has the copyrighted material intact which will be cut in the new release. The HD version also brings along it's own set of bugs but that's a different story.

Yeah, but is it worth wasting resources fixing an old release just so that they can sell it again on GOG? Maybe, but this is Konami. Either way, the HD versions are superior and the new release apparently fixes some bugs those had. We have to wait for reviews to find out.

What I hope is that MGS1 doesn´t get delisted from GOG because that one is a native PC release unlike the Master Collection version which seems to be the PS1 version emulated. While I understand the PC release was inferior in comparison, it at least looks much better running at higher resolutions and the fan patch fixes most of its issues.

Still would not surprise me to see modders find a way to mod the old footage back into the new version of MGS2.
I deleted my own post, it has been answered somewhere else

I hope to see it re-listed, included all the other metal gear games
Damn, Konami. Back at it again with the sleight hands.
