It's a fantastic game. Much better than Metal Gear 1. Hopefully it will be added at some point.

I second that. I want to play it as well but it's missing. I also want Peace Walker, Portable Ops, and for MGS2 to be relisted. Thankfully I bought MGS2 before it was delisted but others weren't so lucky.

Yeah, sadly if you want to have all the Metal Gear games in one place you gotta go with Steam. I don´t think the Master Collection (or MGSV and Rising) will release on GOG anytime soon, if at all. The original PC release of MGS2 is most likely not going to be relisted so GOG only has 2 games in the franchise.

MGS2 was on here last year but for whatever reason the page aint there anymore, odd, still in the library to download.

Konami took it down I guess?

Though it is possible they were making way for the Master Collection? hard to say last activity for MGS2 was end of January 2022.

Apparently it was delisted due to expired licenses for some archival footage used in the game. It was supposedly going to be relisted last year but was not. Then the Master Collection was announced so I doubt they will bother patching the GOG release. So it´s very likely not going to be available for purchase again. Those who got it still have it in their library though.

I don´t think GOG will take away a game people purchased just because it was delisted.

They might. I haven't been able to launch the MSX metal gear from my installers it just goes to a blank screen every time. It never did that before the last time I had it installed, I'm kind of worried.

What are you on about, I just installed Metal Gear from GOG offline installers and it works perfectly. The game has just returned to the GOG store, too.

That being said, yes, back up all of your gog offline installers, it's the only way to give "ownership" and "DRM free" meaning. If you rely only on gog hosting in the cloud it's not much different then steam in the end, incl. the risk of loosing your games or unwanted changes to the installers.

No. Metal Gear 2 is NOT on GOG.
