Hey,

The "Integral" version of Metal Gear Solid 1 has some bonus features, including a full first person mode. The reason why I bought this on gog is mainly so that I could play through the game in that mode. However, it seems like the option only becomes available in the "extra" menu after beating the game for the first time. Does anyone know of some hack to set that flag and enable it right away? I've already beaten MGS on my psx countless times, so I just wanna cut to the chase here! :P

Thanks!

It should be available right from the beginning, by quickly double tapping the "first person view" key/button.
Ah, indeed it is! It seems I was misinformed (at least about this particular version of the game)

The way they implemented this mode is far from perfect, but surprisingly interesting. It sure is a different perspective on Shadow Moses. I've noticed that the hit detection on pickup boxes doesn't work well in this mode; you have to briefly crouch to pick them up (which incidentally adds a bit of realism, funnily enough). That just makes it all the more challenging, of course.

I much prefer the PC version from the console version of Integral. Integral is probably not the best way to experience the first Metal Gear Solid. but this is the best way to experience Integral.
