Nice to see some hotfixes for MGS! It's nice to see the games haven't just been dumped on here from an old hard drive somewhere :)

Thank you for the fixes GOG staff!

shoutout to GOG, presumably Thiev and co., for implementing these fixes. always appreciated
My 8bitdo SN30 Pro+ in DInput just work fine and brilliant with some small remappings in options menu. Will be improved rumble/vibration support ? I remember that it was on PSX version of MGS
It is fantastic that you guys are supporting this release. I refunded at launch because of too many issues but promised I'd buy it again if it received support. GOG made good on its promise to care for this release so I'm making good on mine and buying it again.

Please do continue working on it as it still has some roughness around the edges!
I'm still getting massive framerate drops in Hardware mode whenever someone uses Stealth Camouflage (for instance, when Grey Fox shows up in the cutscene just after beating the Revolver Ocelot boss fight).

Also, boss fights after Revolver Ocelot are still playing the incorrect music (they play Encounter when they should be playing Duel). Duel correctly plays during the Ocelot boss fight.

Finally, when using analog triggers (such as the Xbox One controller's), the mappings for the Item and Weapon inventories are reversed for some reason.

It's weird, the same massive framerate drops happen when playing the PS1 version of Metal Gear Solid as well, using the PS1 emulator Beetle PSX HW on Retroarch. How can modern PCs not handle an effect from 1998-2000?

What are your hardware specs guys? Are you using Intel or AMD video cards? Which driver version?
That effect should present no trouble either on PC or PS1 emulation.

My specs are:

GTX 980 ti
i7 8086k
16GB RAM

I believe I'm using the latest drivers

I'm using an nVidia RTX 2070 Max-Q. Played the game across the last few drivers, including the most recent ones as of this post.

To be fair, I'm not getting any performance issues emulating my PS1 copy via Beetle on Retroarch.

I figured out the performance issues, I mean I thought the GTX 980 ti would be able to handle it, but I got the slowdowns in the water and when stealth camo is on the screen when my internal resolution was set to x16 and even x8. At x4, it runs just fine.
