Hi everyone!

I have problems when trying to run the game (I was so excited to play it again!) :(

When I just press the "play" button on the GOG launcher, a CMD windows blinks and a process called "MFatigue.exe" is executed (I can see it on my Windows Tasks Manager) but the game doesn't show up.

I remember I had this problem time ago when trying to run the "original" version of this game, but now I don't remember the solution (also, maybe it doesn't work because of this "ready-to-run" version).

Also, there is a file called "directplay.cmd" in the installation folder, that tries to enable the feature "DirectPlay" of Windows. I tried to enable it manually but this feature it is missing (maybe my Windows version?). Could be this disabled feature the cause of the issue? If so, is there a way to patch Windows with this DirectPlay feature?

I hope you guys could help me out with this problem :)

My Windows version: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1

PS: Hardware shoul not be a problem, the last time I played this game I had the same hw.

Thank you all.

Well did you install direct x 9.0c redistributable full June 2010 DirectX 9.0c package and then trying to play the game?
It's an older directx that needs to be installed to work with older games, think it contains directplay for win 7 also.
On win 8 and 10 it needs to be activated extra but we aren't talking about this.

Hi!

I installed the full June 2010 DirectX 9.0c, tryed again and... Happens the same (a CMD window blinks and MFatigue.exe begin running on my OS). But, today I was able to see what the CMD window prompted, here is the message:

"C:\Program" command not recognized as internal or external...

It seems that the path of the command that is trying to execute the MFatigue.exe (yes, MFatigue.exe and not "directplay.cmd" as I thought in first place) is not quoted, therefore when it finds the space character of the word "Program Files" , it takes the "C:\Program" as the command to execute (is a very common issue when you start programming BAT files hehe)...

So... the problem now is that I cannot modify what the .exe is trying to do... It's up to GOG or whoever is responsible of this MetalFatigue release to fix it. Anyone knows where I could post this issue to be read by those people?

Anyway I'll try to install GOG directly on "C:" and see what happens when simplifyng the installation path.

Regards.

Huh run GOG? Are you using galaxy gog?
Did you try running the exe from where you installed the game and not the shortcut?
And it's not preferrable to install stuff in program files.
I really don't use gog galaxy so maybe some help with support would help. Just try checking support if they will answer, i myself haven't isntalled this game yet or haven't needed support except for 1 game though and then they changed support website so i don't know how it works now.

Hello again!

Yes I tried running the .exe directly before (also I didn't know that it wasn't preferrable to install stuff in program files)

In any case I moved the installation path to "C:" and gave admin privileges to the MFatigue.exe and now it's working, strange because the full path to Metal Fatigue folder still has the space character of "Metal Fatigue", also, before moving the installation path, I gave admin privileges to everything that was able to execute inside that folder and didn't work :S

Anyway, moving to "C:" and giving admin privileges to MFatigue.exe (and maybe because of installig the directx9.0c) did the trick.

This way I'm able to run it directly through the MFatigue.exe and from the GOG Galaxy launcher :)

Thank you very much (and I hope that this post could help to anyone having the same issue).

Regards.
