Installation of the availabe Patch_Megarace3.exe (e.g. http://www.fileplanet.com/82164/80000/fileinfo/MegaRace-3-Patch) was unsuccessful (at least on my Win98SE, WinXP & Win7 systems), possibly due to InstallShield issues. The following archive contains the updated files:

Extract it in the main game folder, preserving pathnames and replacing existing files.

No changelog was made available for this patch. One difference I found is that it can now correctly set the 1920x1080 resolution.

I hope that the GOG.com team will incorporate this patch in the game installer ...

I don't think so. The files are different. Also, at least one issue (resolution 1920x1080) is resolved with the patch.

I wish GOG.com team would patch all the games to the latest version available and post this formation in EVERY game's description page.

BTW, some recommendations to make the GOG experience better (I hope someone from the GOG team reads this ...):
- include in every DOS-based game the new scaler selector, as introduced in Dragonsphere (nice work!).
- include both DOS & Windows versions of games (e.g. Earth 2140, Phantasmagoria: A Puzzle Of Flesh)
- provide always a game manual (e.g. The Manhole: Masterpiece Edition, realMyst)
- if no legal issues are involved, incorporate user-made patches/improvements (e.g. Phantasmagoria: A Puzzle Of Flesh WinXP/Vista patch: http://www.squirtthecat.com/games/phantasmagoria_2/index.html)
- add installer Win9X support for owners of legacy hardware/OSes (I would like to run Descent w/ 3Dfx patch on my Win98SE/Voodoo2SLI rig).
