I think there's a way to do that - but it requires some extra tinkering. At which I am completely green.

If You look on the web, You should able to find a patch for Pacific Assault. While it mostly focuses around Multiplayer bugs, it also fixes the Guadalcanal Medal bug. I know because I have seen it working. and I was able to get and see those medals - Faciat Georgius, Legion of Merit and the Silver Star.

But there is a catch - For some reason, the Patch installer does nor see the GOG version of the game. Which is why I said extra tinkering is required.

Sorry for necroing this thread, but did you find a solution for the Guadalcanal bug on the GOG version ? I encounter the same frustrating bug.

Download the MOHPA_1_1_to_1_2.exe patch via the Wayback Machine's cache of http://largedownloads.ea.com/pub/patches/MOH/Pacific_Assault/, or via Mod DB or GameFront. Extract the contents of MOHPA_1_1_to_1_2.exe (I used Universal Extractor for this). Among the contents of the executable is a cabinet archive named data1.cab. Next, extract the contents of data1.cab (you can use Universal Extractor for this as well). Within the contents of that cabinet archive is a directory named "main", and inside that directory are two LithTech Rez archives. pak9.rez is the archive needed to fix the objectives issue. Copy pak9.rez and paste it in the following location:
If GOG Galaxy- Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Medal of Honor - Pacific Assault\main
If GOG sans Galaxy- GOG Games\Medal of Honor - Pacific Assault\main

This will replace the game's existing pak9.rez, so you might want to back it up first. Also, you will need to complete the Guadalcanal hidden objectives again. If you are going to use an existing save as opposed to restarting the game from the beginning, then you will likely need to restart from your last Makin Atoll save (e.g. "Sitting Ducks - Nautilus Defense") as opposed to restarting from a Guadalcanal save.

Note: If you use Universal Extractor 2 instead of the original Universal Extractor, once you've extracted the CAB archive, the "main" directory with the pak9.rez will be located in the "Patch_Files_Uninstallable" directory.

PS Unrelated, but the Director's Edition content can be found at https://www.moddb.com/games/medal-of-honor-pacific-assault/downloads/medal-of-honor-pacific-assault-directors-edition.

Edit: For anyone having issues with the method listed above, you might want to try the unofficial "Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault - Digital Patch" that was added to PCGamingWiki in March 2021. I haven't tested it myself, but it should include the fixes from the official 1.2 patch as well as the content from the Director's Edition.

I uninstalled the game some months ago, but I think I kept my saves, so I will try your tip. Thank you.

Hi. Thank you for posting this fix (and the link to it in a related thread). I´ve downloaded the patch and extracted it and then the data1.cab using Universal Extractor per your instructions. Now, there is no "main" directory directly. I did find it in the "English_Files" directory, but that one only contained pak10.rez. I found the "main" directory containg pak9.rez in a directory called "Patch_Files_Uninstallable". Not sure why the path is not the same as you described. Maybe because of the version of Universal Extractor I used? Anyways, I replaced the pak9.rez file as you describe (I noticed the file is also present in the same location in data2.cab ).

Now, thing is, I´ve had this ´uncompleted hidden objectives / missing medals´ bug in most of the missions. Not just Guadalcanal, but also Boot Camp, Makin, and Tarawa, despite definitely completing them. In Boot Camp for example, I was missing the objective of having 50% accuracy on the range (despite having the ones for 75 and 100). I decided to start a new campaign to snatch all the missing medals rather than just Guadalcanal, but after completing Boot Camp, I had the same bug again. Missing the objective for 50% accuracy.

So I´m wondering, are other people having this bug with other missions than Guadalcanal as well, and if so, is the solution to it hidden in a different file than pak9.rez, or have I done something wrong when replacing the file?

EDIT: So I decided to try one more thing and copied the pak9.rez file from the data2.cab archive´s directory instead, replayed Boot Camp, and this time all medals unlocked! I´ll continue the campaign over the next week and see if all the others do as well.

You must have used Universal Extractor 2 (the "Patch_Files_Uninstallable" directory will not be created if using the original Universal Extractor). If using the original Universal Extractor (v1.6.1), you will encounter an error message when trying to extract data2.cab that it could not open \<path to file>\data2.hdr. If using the original Universal Extractor, you will need to instead extract via data1.cab, which has a corresponding InstallScript header file "data1.hdr". Thanks for the update; I've added a note to my original instructions.

Little late as well, but I also found out that the specific files for the medals and hero moments are in current.spv and current.stv files within your save locations. So I wonder if it would be possible to mod those files to give you those medals back. Either that or you could post those files for those who don't want to replay the entire Guadalcanal section again.as it seems like you got all the medals for your playthrough based on your similar post on answers.ea.com.

I've done what was listed here and then reloaded my Makin save at the Nautilus Defense but 5 seconds later it always crashes, so I have no idea what's going on.

Have you tried an earlier autosave, such as "Sitting Ducks - Return to Rafts"?

For anyone having issues with the method listed in my original post, you might want to try the unofficial "Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault - Digital Patch" that was added to PCGamingWiki in March 2021. I wanted to try it out, but couldn't get it working because the 7z archive file is broken, can't open it or repair it, heck there isn't even a proper tutorial for this thing. Better to just stick to what already works.
