Ever since I went from onboard Intel HD 530 graphics to a modest RX 570, the game plays in 16:9 for me. I want the original aspect ratio back because I do not like this stretched-out view of the game. Does anyone know how to do this without resorting to spending hours on trial & error?

Okay, so I looked, and selected "preserve aspect ratio" for this game, but it still stretches all the way across. Am I overlooking something?

I do not know :-( Not very interested in this so I just always change around the few settings there are until things work then close the window and promptly forget about it.

I just now remembered some people say that with some monitors you have to change settings in the monitors too and that some even do not support anything but keeping the same aspect ratio.

My Master of Orion 2 just now started going automatically from full screen, non-windowed (my preferred viewing method) to 640x480 in a DOSBox window. Hitting Alt-Enter gets the full screen back for a second or so, and then DOSBox changes right back to the windowed version. I switched the configuration in the dosbox configuration file to those listed above (they were all different before) and the same thing still happened.

I have no idea what changed, as I've played over 100 hours on my laptop and never had this issue before. Anyone have any ideas on what's going on?

Strange. Does it say fullscreen=true in dosboxMOO2.conf?

I did an uninstall/reinstall, just in case some weird setting got changed without my knowledge. The clean install did the same thing. The first few (non-comment) lines in the dosboxMOO2.conf file are as follows:

sensitivity=100

The same thing happens when I change the appropriate values to the suggestions you made above. As I said, this *just* started happening yesterday.

mine just started the same thing. It says that it is still full screen, I have adjusted ratios and it makes no difference. It is aways in a small screen. I tried the repair/uninstall option hoping it would fix the problem. No luck.

OK guys, sounds like to problem is with your video drivers since everything is fine with Dosbox.

It's definitely something with the drivers, since my desktop also has MOO2 installed, and it's working just fine there. I've got an nVidia card on my laptop. Found an answer in another GoG thread that said to turn off "Share" in the nVidia Experience controls, but I don't have the Share option there. I'll keep poking around.
