There's a new game that follows the gameplay style of Master of Orion 1 (stacked ships, turn-based combat, colony slider management, etc) called Dominus Galaxia. If you're interested, we've launched a kickstarter that includes a free full playable build of the game that you can try out! There's no demo restrictions, and you do not have to pledge anything to give the game a try. The download link is at top of the kickstarter page:

I hope you all enjoy this! I'm one of the developers behind this game, and we view this as a "what if MoO 2 followed MoO 1's gameplay" spiritual successor to MoO 1.

I get the error message "Dominus Galaxia.exe is no valid win32 app"

Downloaded the archive 2 times just in case (crc32 = 39BB9142 for both),
so I guess it does not run under XP ?

Seldom do developers go out of their way to make a game work on an OS which support ended for ten and a half years ago. Maybe try Linux + Wine?

As the first MoO is my favourite, this certainly caught my interest.

Correct, XP is not supported by the engine we used to create Dominus Galaxia in.

I did not see it while on your website and forum, will this game be available on GOG?
