ON the planetary screen when I try to maximize some of the windows, the don't maximize, but "freeze" and then the only option i have is to push the next TURN button, because I won't be able to leave that screen for the map screen and if i keep trying it will eventually say can't reach direct x surface (or some such)

any way to fix this problem???

Have you tried the usuals? - running it in compatibility mode (are you in Win7?), running it with admin privileges, does it have a graphic mode setup.exe to play with. and does it have graphic modes within the the game?

I don't have the windows copy of MOO3, so I can help you no further than this.

P.S. You can also make your post so that it comes up as a question - i.e. something that needs to be solved - and then once solved, you can mark a post as a solution to your question so that people know your question was solved and in which to post to look for the solution if they have had the same problem (as an aside, the solver gets rep points).

I just tried administrator and no good.

I don't know what a graphic mode setup.exe is?

Yes, I'm in Windows seven: any idea how to do compatibility mode...i bought this computer over a month ago...first window 7 i've owned.

I'll have to look into turning it into a question...

That file doesn't come with all GOG games (in fact I only have one with it) and honestly I don't know if it has much effect, but it supposedly allows you to choose how some of the graphics are done: directdraw, surface, etc... However, it may not have come with MOO3.

So I'm actually a Mac user with a Windows 7 partition :). I only know about compatibility mode from the forums here. However, I do have this link describing the process from Microsoft. Hopefully this helps.

To turn something into a question is a tick box under the topic subject. I can't remember if you can edit the OP and turn the thread into a question once already posted - I think you can, but I'm not sure.

I too had the same issue. I tried all the typical ways (compatibility, admin, etc.) and nothing worked. In the end, it's the "UI Animation Settings" under options that are the issue. Tried them on each speed, but the only way to not have any of the issue is to disable them.

Turn them off and you should be peachy as I am.
