My fiancee and I have been attempting to get a network game started on Windows 10, and even through following all the instructions we found on the forums and google concerning the GoG version of the game, what commands to input into dosbox and so on. We can't seem to get it to work, even tried virtual LAN apps like Evolve.
On windows 10 or perhaps the updated dosbox client it doesn't seem to play out command and prompt wise like the forums state it should, i'm not certain if this is the program, windows 10 itself, or simply me being a blithering idiot.
I've gone into the run multiplayer game option clicked Start Network Host Game, gone into the game, selected multiplaye > Network > start game, it sets up the network and says 1 Human player has joined the game... and thats where we get trouble. theres no place to put CONNECT user.ip.address in the DOSbox. and even when going into the prompt itself it doesn't accept commands that other users say work. I'm just hitting a bunch of dead ends and its mighty frustrating.
Anyone have any ideas or advice? I mean, I'm fairly versed with networking and the fiancee is a comp sci student and this is still frustrating us to no end!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Heres a photo of the step we run into trouble on. no commands seem to work in that window such as CONNECT host.ip.address etc.
