Something odd. I started with Doom Stars; developed 2 different versions and when I started production I was able to only pick one of them (did so 4 times); the other vanished. All other worlds I checked out did not offered Doom Star production.
((edit: Apparently only one Doom Star possible; after finishing the first in queue the rest vanished.))

Also Leadername: At the beginning I was able to type a name. Never bothered much to look after that for most the time up until recently when I wanted to gloat over how far above my empire is above the AI: *drumroll* The name I typed is vanished like an alternative Doom Star but instead replaced with my gog username. Yes, an empire ruled by the merciless "anothername": For that you (whomever from the devs thought it would be kewl) get a "I hate you!" (<- the nice, not first choice of words, version) from the bottom of my heat :/

Yes... I don`t use GOG Galaxy. But I too noticed I could put my name in the name slot, but then it showed up as different in the game. For me the game took my computer`s name instead! This forced me to change my computer`s name although I think I need to start a new game to see the change. This was similar nonsense with NMS.

What the heck is going on here with GOG?

Aint gogs fault. I have been told that its with most more modern games that they have the account name shown (usually steam, but I do not go to such places; which is probably why I missed that kind of ugly development becoming the norm). As said elsewhere, I would not mind if it is referenced in the save game or the options or next to the games version number but as the name of the emperor? Thats lousy. Especially since there is a field that asks for the name at creation.

Well it`s very silly, since putting your name in the game should be easy to do and not forcefully linked to something else. It stops the game feeling more `personal`. It`s terribly bad practise when you`ve spent money on these things.

I guess this might be related to multiplayer.

Its a sloppy bug and immersion breaking bad. Got hit by that two times in a row (2 different games) with from an angle I never expected and had my spending behavior adjusted accordingly if I had known that before hand. And considering that Gog could do something but refuses too, even had to resort to lying in support requests made me adjust my spending even tighter.

And I just wrote so much more than I should & wanted to have on a 1.5y old necro :P

...although since this bug is still here and continued to be denied by all officials its still relevant IMO.

Well, necro or not, the behavior of the game persists, and new players (such as yours truly) will still find it. I do not know whether we can call it a bug; more of lazy coding.

You inow, often games are damaged in SP because of decisions taken to please the very vocal MP crowd.

However, when some of these design decisions can be easily changed for SP and they are not, it means sloppiness or, maybe more truly, cutting costs where they should not.

In this case, very simple coding would have made a more pleasing experience.

By the way, enjoyable and engrossing as the game is, with the magic of Sid Meier's "One more turn..." in full motion, it still has some rough edges here and there. For examplo, no matter if you select an alternate model for your ship blueprints, they will show the same model in the strategic screen. So it might be just sloppiness.
Well I asked politely, several times, they could not possibly have missed my posts, so my patience is at an end. So now I put the boot in to these Devs.

They`re like "Please talk to us we care what you think, blah, blah, blah!"

You point out a bug or problem they don`t like to hear and it`s silence. Suddenly they can`t hear or see you. Typical bs corporate attitude. "We`re you`re best friends until you pay money then we don`t care!"

Well I don`t forget and I`ll remember this company for the future. They`re ignorant retards. Maybe that will get their attention. I pay money and I expect service or at least a damn response to why this issue, a simple issue, was never fixed.
Not yet released UCP 5.7 will prevent queuing multiple doomstars up since they are supposed to be Empire Unique.
