Hi all,

Being a fan of Dungeon Keeper and strategies in general I read positive reviews for Majesty HD and decided to give it a try. But after half an hour of game I was quite disappointed.

I mean, people, how do you play this thing at all? I cannot see what is happening, figures are so small and undistinguished that I don't understand who is fighting who, not mentioning that only a small part of battlefield fits into the screen. Minimap does not help either, all units colored the same way there. And everything happens so quickly, it is not possible to keep track of events. Switching between different buildings and interface is quite clumsy. Overall, very uncomfortable playing experience.

I played numerous games in my life, from many genres, so its not like I don't understand how to play games in general.

Maybe I don't understand something, but how come so many people enjoy this game? In terms of playablility it is total disaster.
Hi Eugene,

first, why 2 identically post.
Second, I can understand your frustration - at least partly. I also think not as high of this game as the others do, playing it now for 2 hours myself.

I will add a new post with a short introduction to this game so far as I understood it by now.

-If the figures are too small, then maybe try decreasing your screen resolution. Each character/creature model is pretty unique; you should be able to identify them with just a glance.

-Check the minimap options to see what is set. Maybe try changing some of those options to get better clarity.

-Open the menu mid-game and there is an option that lets you change the game speed. If you turn the speed all the way down, then the game is effectively paused.
Different strokes for different folks. For the life of me I cant see why people play the Witcher series, but they do.

I suspect part of the disconnect comes on your comment "... strategies in general..." There is no strategy here to speak of, at best its build order. People will argue with me of course, but the bottom line is this is "build it and they will come". One of the first "casual" games in my mind and I love it.

You are looking to manage events and pick out individuals... Not what this is about at all. Sit down with some milk and cookies or chips and soda or whatever your fav is and let it rip.
A lot of the frustration might be that unlike most strategy games of this type, the units have minds of their own, and "convincing" them to do what you want is a major part of the strategy in the game. People used to just give orders and have your units blindly obey would have problems with this.
