I'm finding this to run incredibly fast and for the mouse to be wicked sensitive. I've done what Wulfc said he did here (http://www.gog.com/en/forum/magic_carpet/game_speed) and switched the CPU to pentium_slow, but it's still too fast and too sensitive. I was wondering if anyone else had any suggestions as to how to fix this.

Thanks!

You need to find the line in the dosboxMC.conf that reads:; "cycles=XXXXX" and change XXXXX into a number that's suitable for your hardware. The lower the number, the slower the game runs.

That did the trick — I'm too slow now, but it'll be easy to tinker with. Thanks!

With Dosbox you can use f11 and f12 to speed up/slowdown the cyclespeed to find the game speed you want.

Just F11 or F12? seems that doesnt work for me?

I follow this forum sticky post about game configuration and set game cycles to max, but that makes the game just run too fast, I would like to adjust the cycles ingame, instead of having to edit the nfo many times.
I set cyles=may also, and it was way too fast.
Try around 85000, that worked well for me!
Don't forget to activate graphical effects with F4, F5, F6, F7 and hit "R" every time when starting ingame graphic to get high resolution mode with 640x480.

Is there a way to enable the hi-res mode before the game starts? Whenever I press R while running Magic Carpet in DOSBOX it always messes up the window.

Unfortunaetly I don't know a way, there seems no config.file, start entry or anythibg like this...
it's CTRL+F11 and CTRL+F12

if you hit ALT+ENTER to go to windowed mode, you can see the current cycles in the window title.

Try:
cycles=max 75% limit 131195
