Yes, I recomend this. Iplayed the original CD version with this fix recently.
It would be good if GOG added it to the game (by default).

Just installed the GOG version and started the Tutorial. HUD in the game without any fixes: see attached.

Edit: added different resolutions.

Currently, playing on 16:9, 1920x1080 - anyone knows how to make the loading screen stretch/wide screen as well? Without the black bars on the sides I mean.

I downloaded some 16:9 loading screen replacements from a russian modding forum, but even after putting them in the "maps" folder, they don't seem to work either.

How do you install that widescreen fix? I have copied the files in the main Mafia folder - it does not work.

Does anyone have issues running the widescreenfix? When I instal it, game just tells me it cannot run it and widescreen fix will be disabled and then it onl opens the settings menu, it ran (strechted) before I applied the fix. Just checking if I am doing something wrong

I'm not sure I'm understanding the "fix". I'm using 1366 X 768 TV for my monitor and ran the game fine at 1920 and ran fine when I changed it to my native resolution as well. All the menu's, load screens, gameplay, all seem to be working like a charm.

What does this Widescreen fix give that isn't already working?

Proper aspect ratio, always look at circles like speedometers and mini maps, they shouldn't be oval.
