This game is complete garbage.
Care to go into specifics?

EDIT: Lol, I just noticed how long ago you posted this.

Well it is a FREE game so...
its not bad actually if you like point and click games.
I tried it for a few minutes, and it seems like a really frustrating game. I hate when you don't have time to scout and need to click the right spot at the right time. I don't mind adventure games, but this is like those old Sierra games when you could die, which was very frustrating.

I think this is a good comparison. At least from my point of view. I really like those old Sierra-games. I like the ever present tension and the knowledge that you and Wilco (for example) are it this together. If your not careful, he could die. And chances are; The last savegame is 5 hours back.

But what i liked the most about the Sierra-games was the feeling for vastness. Not just in the game-area but in the possibilities (before they started using icons, that is). As a kid i always felt that whatever i wanted to do i could do. I recently played Kings Quest 3 again, and i went right back into that mode; explorer in a strange land of LIMITLESS possibilities.

I guess this is why I'm partial to LofT. It has a bit of that "limitless posibilities"-feel to me. Please note that i haven't played the game for years, and it might just be the extremely complicated interface.

Funny how they went from the most picky, complexy interface to the NON-interface of BASS. :P

I see what you're saying in that the game becomes more real. Maybe I don't like real life that much ;). No, as a player I've always liked turn based games and strategy, where you have time to think and you don't get stressed out because you don't find the solution within 5 seconds.

What do you mean by interface? I googled for BASS and found Apple products.

BASS = Beneath A Steel Sky. The game Revolution made after Lure of the Temptress. I might be using the word interface wrongly. What i mean is the way that you control the character. Old sierra games had just the word parser, Lucasarts' games had the bar at the bottom of the screen, and Lure had the clickety-clicky sub-category-choosing thing. BASS just has a left and a right mouse-click. Very intuitive and works brilliantly.

EDIT: BASS is also free here at GOG. You should check it out! Deaths are few and far between. ;)
Your comment on wanting the time to think made me think of a scene early in Space Quest III where Wilco ends up on a conveyor belt, heading towards a meat-grinder and you have to figure out how to get him out of there alive before you fall in.. You could pause the game, but still.. I know what i mean!:) I love it! :D

Aha, when I was thinking of interface I only imagined the graphics. If you said, maybe, game mechanics I would see what you meant. Thanks for clearing it up.

I tried BASS too for maybe an hour, and I like that game better, and you're right, that it's very intuitive too. But of course, with less options, you have less combinations and therefore the game becomes easier as well.

Gotta admit, tried Temptress and after getting punched in the face by the Orc several times got bored and left it. 20 years ago, I would`ve probably tried twice as long then got bored and left it.
Haha, I don't even know what the point is in terms of attaching ridiculous games. You'd think they'd want to entice new users with a better-quality selection rather than four silly time-wasters.
Funnily enough... I loved the game back in the day it was first released and am very happy to have it on GoG :)
I don't know why all the hatred towards a free game.

It's true that game is somewhat limited, it's user interface is bit annoying (there's plenty of useless commands) and you spend way too much time running around the village and just trying to find the right person to talk to.

But is it a bad game? No, I don't think so, but it's not a great game either. It's rather average quality early 90s adventure game with some new innovations and few interesting characters. And while Lure of the Temptress is Revolution's worst adventure game it's certainly interesting to see how their legend started.
