It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Update: Managed to get it running by going into the root directory and double clicking the Loco.exe. Both the desktop shortcut and launcher.exe in the root directory cause the error.

Just picked up Locomotion and Rollercoaster Tycoon today. Tycoon runs fine but Locomotion is throwing up this error when I fire it up.

Error: Failed attempt to launch program or document: Action: <taskkill /f /im explorer.exe>
Params: <>

The current thread will exit.

Specifically: The system cannot find the file specified.

Line#
--> 004: Run,taskkill /f /im explorer.exe

I downloaded it twice to insure the files were intact. Once by browser once by GOG downloader.

Those are command parameters, which only occurs in Windows Vista & 7. It was suppose to close program named "Explorer.exe", which is a fairly different than Windows XP one. Rollercoaster Tycoon Deluxe had this issue in Windows XP too, but later GOG has created different shortcut and launcher for Windows XP that didn't include this command line. Reason why those command lines exist is for compatibility, because Windows Vista & 7 will sometime screw colors of the game (Locomotion uses the same graphic engine like RCT). Hopefully GOG will fix this problem like they fixed same thing of RCT one.

EDIT: For more info about this issue read this post: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/rollercoaster_tycoon_deluxe/launcher_error_taskill_xp_home

Best to send in a support ticket to GOG so that they are aware of this issue. As the solution is known you can let them know or point them at this thread you've created.

Thanks for taking the time to post the update; this solved my problem. I edited the desktop shortcut and replaced the target line with:

"C:\GOG Games\Chris Sawyer's Locomotion\LOCO.EXE" (quotes included)

And now it works like a charm. Though I'm surprised there's even still an issue in the two years since this solution was first posted.

Got a error dialog box when I tried to run Locomotion the second time: "Cannot run/start loco.exe". Running it directly seems to work just fine. Am on W8.1.

Win10 1703 is doing the same. it doesn't like the GOGLaucher. running from LOCO.exe in the game directory is still ok though.
