This one looks promising, a bit like Diablo or Baldur's Gate. Are there any reviews out there and any word regarding stability of the game?

It was made by some of the same people who worked on Icewind Dale and Planescape games, so it must have some quality, but I remember that not all the reviews were great (not bad either). I guess that if you liked games liked games like Icewind Dale, Baldur's Gate series or Diablo, you might like it.
I nevert got to play it and I'm willing to give it a try.
I just downloaded and installed on Windows XP and so far (about 2 hours play) it is working fine. The manual states that the game uses the "SPECIAL" character system of Fallout and Fallout 2 modified to accommodate magic.
This game was called Fallout in Middle-ages.
The game has its ups and downs. It was developed by Reflexive Entertainment (sic) with support of Black Isle. The devs called it Fallout in Middle Ages due to use of the SPECIAL system, but since they changed the combat to real-time, I wouldn't say that's a very true accessment. The game itself starts off good with sidequests, interesting dialog, but becomes a combat-fest afterwards the initial area. Still, if you're interested to see one of the last games Black Isle worked on, even if at a diminished capacity (they would later work on Icewind Dale 2), go ahead with Lionheart.
I tried to give this game a chance, played a few times, but it' just not it
a mere attempt to live up to Fallout and Baldur expectations, IMHO this game is simply weak and 'done by the same people that did Torment, Icewind' doesn't make it any better
this game is really funny in first 2/3, as someone said you can compare it to middle-age fallout... well not exactly but you will find similar points... but last 1/3 is quite "omg we need to finish it in month" style, so it is reduced into fighting all the way to the end. but still, definitely woth for 6 bucks
I remember trying the demo back in the day and deciding against it, I didn't like the combat a lot. But I'll probably try it again now that I can buy it on the cheap.
It's a good game in the start with plenty of stuff to do, but once you reach a sudden point, everything kinda disappears and it turns into a very linear hack and slash game.. To be honest, it's one of the few games i've never completed, even though it started out very promising

Actually calling this Fallout in Middle Ages was a joke y? What I am trying to say - it's worth to try since it's cheap but... Really, it's no too good, wouldn't recommend it, as far as I remember 1/3 of the game is great and then suddenly - BOOM! No more fun for you !
Not to mention it's impossible to play as - say - Mage thanks to the crappy Pausing system and combat speed.

I bought this back in the day and thought it was a total let-down. Never finished it, and to be honest I don't remember why exactly. I want to say that it was buggy and barely playable.
Seeing it here makes me want to give it another shot, but what I'd really like is to see Planescape or BG 1&2 up for $5.99 a pop. Fingers crossed.
I never got a chance to play this game when it was released but it always looked cool. It was my first GOG purchase and so far I'm having a blast. I'll update if my opinion changes
Would you guys say that the following comparisons would be apt?
This is to Fallout as Icewind Dale (1and 2) was to Baldurs Gate?
I am debating between buying this or Kingpin to get Die By The Sword (yay for free coupon).

I wouldn't make that comparison. This game feels more like Arcanum that Fallout to me, if that helps you any

Well, my point was more gameplay wise. A lot of people bash IWD for being too hack-and-slashy (I loved it, for the record).
So would this be to Arcanum as IWD was to BG? :p
