ummm..all but Larry 7/Love for sale and the SVGA version of Larry 6 already use ScummVM so there ya go.
However, word of warning. The sci games (& the vga ones in particular) actually run a bit more efficiently in dosbox. SCUMMVM does have a few slowdowns here or there.

I don't really know why they decided to use ScummVM this time. My view is that DOSBox is superior emulator for any and all DOS games. GOG has used DOSBox without issues with almost every other Sierra game.

I wonder whose choice it was initially. GOG or Codemasters?

There are some benefits to running LSL1 (AGI game) under scummvm, as it adds mouse control, and sound options that improve sound fx and music over the standard PC speaker sound. Tandy speaker emulation I think? ...or even forcing the sound through a midi emulation.

Nope. GoG's version of LSL1 with SCUMMVM is crippled. It takes away the ability to use real midi or emulation. You have to install the game under DoSBOX and select Roland MT-32 with CSM support, then edit the DoSBOX conf file to enable the real midi port. This is one series where GoG did the wrong thing. Should have stuck with DoSBOX on the LSL line.
You should be able to get around that by having a copy of ScummVM installed elsewhere with the settings of your choice, and then just loading up the files from the LSL1AGI into that version of ScummVM. You should also be able to manually set the settings.

At least it comes with all the needed files to manually load them within DosBox, even if that takes more work, and average user won't know how to do it.

I wish they would add the dos files needed to run the dos version of LSL7. As I found it slightly more stable than the windows version.

Nope, that was the first thing I tried. Regular SCUMMVM will not work with the version of LSL1 that GoG sells. Thinking it may be some sort of configuration issue I was overlooking I asked about it at the SCUMMVM forums and found that nobody could make it work right.

But you're right that it does come with everything you need to do a proper DoSBOX install. I use a real MT-32 (Old or Version 1), and it works fine in Win 7, DoSBOX 0.74, and a good quality USB to MIDI interface with a simple patch cord going to Line In on my sound card. The key is the USB to MIDI. Most MIDI games using a real MIDI module will function just fine with a cheap $5.00 USB to MIDI cable. But many of the early Sierra, and Origin games have issues with the cheap cables. Missing or wrong instruments and effects, clipping, and a host of other little sysex message errors are not uncommon. If you're going to spend the money to get into real modules instead of emulators then spend the $30-$40 to get a quality cable as well. It will save time and trouble in the long run.

I experimented and tried using my regular scummvm installation and LSL1AGI, and it worked fine for me. Not sure what your problem is. Mouse works (not a standard dos version feature). Forcing it to use General Midi or MT-32 emulation midi (something that AGI games weren't designed to do) works, etc.
