Nice one adding the official hintbooks. However, how does one read the reddened sections?

Assuming these hintbooks are identical to the ones on Al Lowe's page, just flip to the next page. It will be the same page, but without the red markings.

That is indeed the case. In all the Larry hint books the page immediately following all the red InvisiClues™ stuff will be the same page with a red filter applied, making the hints readable.
