I recently brought "Leisure Suit Larry 1-6" and opened the hint books included with this pack. I noticed a lot of the text in there was scrapped over with a red ballpoint pen or some kind of spoiler graphic. Is this intentional, or is this some kind of censoring from gog.com to stop people from using it as a walkthrough?
This is intentional, and it is not a censorship, but spoiler tags. The uncovered text is present on the next pages, before another covered text.

As JamesBond has said, yes, it's intentional and that was the old school way of preventing spoilers :D
It's called magic viewer IIRC. It involved holding a thin piece of red plastic over the red bars to reveal the text underneath.

It was Sierra's second way of hiding answers. the first way was through invisible ink, and a 'magic pen' (TM) that would reveal the ink.
