I recently download LoG universal update.patch 2.0.9 (or something like that) on my GOG downloader and cannot find it on my HDD. My GOG downloader doesn't lead me to the files anymore for some reason, where is it usually.

The current installer version is 2.0.1.17 and the current universal updater version is 2.0.1.19. Since you said 2.0.9, are you sure you're looking for the right file name?

Also, check your antivirus program's log to see if it has done anything with the file. It should be safe, but sometimes 'reputation' heuristics can cause problems with recently-released GoG files.

I doubt it my firewall usually tells me if it's interfering with something. What's the file name so I can search my PC for it?
I don't use the GoG downloader so I don't know if you will have it under a different filename, but the direct download filename is: patch_legend_of_grimrock_2.0.1.19.exe

You should be able to re-download the file though - if you can't find it, that might be easier.

Yeah i'll have to re-download without the installer, wanted to avoid re-downloading it but it's my last resort.
Slightly off-topic, but when I try to install the latest update, it won't and just produces a patch log which states:

Legend of Grimrock patch log
Incorrect version of: F:\GOG Games\Legend of Grimrock\grimrock.exe

Since I've only just re-downloaded the main game, I know I haven't missed out on any previous patches and the game runs fine from the grimrock.exe file. Anyone else had this difficulty and found a solution?
If you've just downloaded and installed the main game then it will already be at the current patch version. The patch file is for anyone updating an older installation.

No, the version I have is not the same version number as the patch - when I run the patch, it does begin to update, but then fails to complete each time. If the patch was unnecessary, when I tried to run it, it would just tell me that the game didn't need updating.
What version number do you see at the game's title screen? (It will be in the bottom left corner.)

*hmmm* this is a often raised complain (confusing version numbering by GOG), consider joining this community wish: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/add_version_number_to_gog_releases_eg_earth_2140_release_12

As Garran already indicated, the latest LoG version 1.3.7. If you have that no further patch required.
