So I've find two scolls but not sure how to use them, one says I need levl 2 fire the other level 3 earth magic, but I have no idea were it says were my magic skills are.
In your mages skill tree (the big star in the character menu) you can see what point you have in each of the magic schools. For Poison Couds for instance you need earth magic three so you have to put three points into the earth magic skill.

Open the character sheet for your mage (either 1, 2, 3 or 4 depending on placement), you should
now see three tabs on the left side of the window; skills are found in the tab furthest down (star).

To use a spell you can either just try out combinations (most require a certain skill level), or you
can use the combination found in the scrolls (right click hands / wand -> click on the runes you
need -> click on the blue fire thingy).

Ungghhhh... sorry, I can't find it. I find the star tab, but although my fire magic is at 4, no "rune tablet" emerges. Is there a shortcut or anything??

The rune tablet is displayed in the bottom right corner over your character avatar when you right click either your mage hands, or the wand he/she has equipped.

Do I need to keep the scroll equipped after I learn the spell, or can I drop it afterwards?
You only have to remember what runes are needed for each spell you use :)

Yup, I figured it out, thanks. Right click ON THE HAND. That took a while, while being perfectly logical and intuitive.

Haven't found a wand yet, am I stupid??

You can't "use" scrolls.
They just provide information!

There's a wand by the end of LVL 1, you probably just missed it. :)
Well this is embarasing, no wonder I didn't find the runes on my mage, I didn't have a mage, instead of a mage I made another rouge with out notesing, so I had to start over from scratch
